Souls Harbour RESCUE Mission

How did you celebrate Canada Day?

Last year, Ken and Michelle Porter celebrated by beginning a journey across our beautiful country.

After starting Souls Harbour RESCUE Mission, Saskatchewan, a decade ago, they left their post in Regina, and made their way to the hub of the Atlantic: Halifax, Nova Scotia.

Souls Harbour RESCUE Mission, Nova Scotia, (SHRM) is an expansion project of the Association of Gospel RESCUE Missions. There are 300 missions in North America, all of whom are assisting to establish the first of it's kind in the Canadian Maritimes.

Because SHRM is a brand new work, they are looking for community partners to come alongside this faith venture. The Porters sold their home and all their possessions, taking only what would fit in the back of their Toyota Matrix. They are full-time volunteers, using their savings to support themselves as they volunteer their time for up to two years while they get established to help the homeless in the Halifax/Dartmouth region.

Live without a salary, you say? Impossible!? Not so! This is the second time Ken & Michelle have had the priviledge of selling all they have to come and work with the poor.
