To build efficiencies into the charitable giving process by connecting charities and non-profits who need stuff with people and companies who have stuff.
Founded in 2009 and launched in May of 2010, DeliverGood is a web utility built to streamline and maximize the charitable giving process. DeliverGood facilitates a process to connect non-profit organizations who need stuff with individuals and businesses who have stuff.
In 2008, Founder, Robb Price, was working with a Calgary Alberta based non-profit organization, THE DOORWAY, when they experienced a fire at their location. Due to the destruction from the fire they had to replace a good portion of what they had in their office. The question was quickly raised: "How do we tell our community and our donors what we need?". In addition, during the three months THE DOORWAY was closed, they received several calls from individuals and small business who wanted to help by purchasing something for them and not just donating cash. People wanted to see their donations in action and not just donate cash. The general sentiment was people tend to feel better when they know that they have solved a problem.
This situation sparked another thought for Robb, "If I have something to donate (i.e. a computer monitor), how do I find an organization who needs what I have?". Robb set out on a mission to find a tool that would solve this problem and quickly realized that such a tool didn't exist. As a result of his findings, Robb began the planning and development of DeliverGood in early 2009.
As they say, the rest is history...and now...the tool exists!
At DeliverGood, we believe that a strong business is built on strong relationships. We are fortunate to have relationships with like minded individuals who are passionate about what we are doing. We are excited that 10 of these individuals, people that we know and trust, have joined us on our advisory board. From the Executive Director of a non-profit organization to the Senior Advisor (retired) on Corporate Philanthropy to one of Canada's largest corporations, we have our bases covered.
